PAID SICK TIME (PST) REQUEST FOR MARYLAND PAYROLL ASSOCIATES:
Atrium Associates that work in Maryland are eligible to accrue earned sick time on all hours worked at a rate of one (1) hour of earned sick time for every 30 hours worked up to 40 hours per calendar year. A maximum of 64 hours of PST may be used in a calendar year. Atrium’s calendar year is defined as January 1 to December 31.
Earned sick time may be taken on the 106th calendar day of employment. Up to 40 hours of earned but unused PST may be carried forward into a new calendar year.
If your assignment ends at any point, earned but unused PST is not paid out. If you go back to work within thirty-seven (37) weeks, and have met the eligibility requirements, you are able to use earned sick time accrued before the break in service.
Montgomery County Paid Sick Time
Atrium Associates that work in Montgomery County, MD are eligible to accrue earned sick time on all hours worked at a rate of one (1) hour of earned sick time for every 30 hours worked and use up to 80 hours per calendar year. Atrium’s calendar year is defined as January 1 to December 31.
Earned sick time may be taken on the 91st calendar day of the effective date of the Montgomery County sick pay mandate or on the 91st calendar day of employment, whichever is later. Up to 56 hours of earned but unused PST may be carried forward into a new calendar year.
If your assignment ends at any point, earned but unused PST is not paid out. If you go back to work within nine (9) months, and have met the eligibility requirements, you are able to use earned sick time accrued before the break in service.
*The statewide law does not preempt Montgomery County’s Paid Sick Leave Ordinances. Associates receive the benefit of whichever provides the more generous leave.
Paid sick time may be taken in four (4) hour increments. If the PST is foreseeable, you must verbally notify your immediate supervisor and Atrium counselor in advance of the need for leave. Sick time is requested using the form below and paid at your current hourly rate. Sick Leave may be used for the Associate’s own or a family member for the diagnosis, care or treatment of an existing health condition or preventive care or for specified purposes for an Associate who is a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.
You must be on an active assignment to be eligible for a PST payment, and submission may not be more than 14 days from the date of request.
*PST may only be requested in 4-hour increments up to 8 hours per day
